Regional Research Fund
- The capital grant pilot funding for several projects involving Oslo MedTech members
Oslo MedTech congratulates Otivio AS, Novelda AS, Bakteriefritt AS, SINTEF, Abilia AS, Imatis AS, Help 24 AS and Geria with good applications and public utility project focus. The constructive partnerships between business, research and health institutions will help reduce the challenges in the health sector.
The companies has been granted funding from the Regional Research Fund - Hovedstadens announcement related to "Community needs for health care services and technology for the aging population".

Investment opportunity in PubGene Inc.
PubGene has reached the milestone of developing Coremine Medical and the Coremine Platform. To further scale the business according to the planned business strategy for market entry and scaling, the company has decided to increase the equity capital through a share issue to private investors. “We want to establish a broad ownership community in PubGene where share owners can closely follow, and in some cases contribute in the scaling of Coremine on the international market”, it says in a statement from the company. SFI status awarded to "Centre of Cardiological Innovation"
The project involves several Oslo Medtech members; the host Oslo University Hospital has Simula Research Laboratory as research partner and GE Vingmed Ultrasound AS, CardioSolv LLC, Biosense Webster Ltd and Kalkulo AS as company partners. The Centre for Cardiological Innovation aims to be a world leader in research on ultrasound-based diagnosis.

Quality Assessment Regulatory (QA-Reg) Forum - Building step-by-step knowledge for entrepreneurs
Oslo Medtech has brought the experts in the QA-REG field closer to you. By setting up seminars and building documentation, we invite members of Oslo Medtech to enhance their knowlede, step-by-step, of the importance of quality- and regulatory requirements, classification and approval procedures in different markets/continents. We hope to build enthusiasm and acknowledge for that regulatory issues is an important part of the companies strategy – business plan as well as financial plan.
The QA-Reg forum was initiated by Oslo Medtech and the cooperating partners Nemko, Haflan Resources and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in the spring of 2010. The aim is to contribute to increase the companies’ knowledge and competence on regulatory issues in different markets. The forum is also a central network arena for members of Oslo Medtech, where present QA- and regulatory issues will be presented and discussed.
In progress is the development of a QA-Reg Guideline for Entrepreneurs, which will be released at the Oslo Medtech website. Information is continuously shared at www.oslomedtech.no, open to all interested partners. However, Oslo Medtech is now setting up members pages, where even more valuable knowledge is to be shared with and among members only. These pages will be available for Oslo Medtech members by using and personal password and a member-login procedure.

Further focus on information and communication in Oslo Medtech
Cecilie Nordbø has been appointed as a new employee in Oslo Medtech, focusing on information, marketing, events and membership services. "It is a pleasure to welcome Cecilie to Oslo Medtech. The expansion of the administration is of great value for Oslo Medtech and its members, and is a result of the additional financial support from Innovation Norway Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and the ARENA programme for 2011", says CEO, Kathrine Myhre.
Cecilie earns a masters degree in Science, Society & Technology from University / Universite Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg and has experience from the field of customer relationship management (CRM) and market communications in the IT and telecom industry. She comes from a position at Forskningsparken - Oslo Innovation Center.
Tone Yrvum appointed as the CEO of Oslo Cancer Cluster
Tone Yrvum (42) has been appointed as the new CEO of Oslo Cancer Cluster and will enter the position in May this year. She comes from a position as sales and marketing director at Mole Genetics, a biotechnology company where she is one of the founders.

DnB NOR's Innovation Award 2011 is now announced, and the deadline for participation is February 28th. The competition 2010 was won by Protia. The Peoples Award went to the Oslo Medtech member Ostomycure, who also won 3rd place in the Innovation Award. Registration date is February 28th.
