Generating innovation. For better living and health.
Innovation in Home Healthcare and Telecommunications Health Solutions Norway needs to build good alternatives to institutional beds for the elderly who want to stay home longer. We have neither "hands" nor money. If we can make it safe to stay at home, the money will go much further in home-based care compared to institutional. It was this challenge "Ageing with Dignity"-project should find a good solution to, writes Lars Dahle, CEO of DIGNIO in the company newsletter.
Healthcare at home Of the 70 billion we spend on elderly care, about half of the money go to the approximately 40,000 beds in institutions of various kinds, and the other half of the almost 200 000 go to seniors who receive health care at home. DIGNIO is addressing the challenge expressed by many elderly, the insecurity of staying home. “There is barely a week without a new case in the media of elderly and vulnerable people who do not get a decent offer and are not being taken well care of”, says Dahle engaged. Lars Dahle and his team have established relations to the "Whole Systems Demonstrator" project in Newham, London; a project that has been of great inspiration to Dignio. Also NRK found inspiration in the Newham-project as shown on the news in October last year (http://www.nrk.no/nett-tv/indeks/232797/).
