This year the special award by Norsk Form, Hedersprisen, went to Laerdal Medical, whose motto is "Helping save lives." They offer training in first aid and airway management. Laerdal Medical was founded in 1940, and has a team of 1400 people in 23 countries on five continents.
The jury stated that "Norsk Form wish to honor the company for its global commitment and their courageous efforts. Throughout its long history, they have shown that interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge in combination with design, can create rapid and targeted development. " It is estimated that about 400 million people have been trained in CPR on Anne doll, and a million lives have been saved as a result. Laerdal Medical told Teknologisk Ukeblad that "We think it's very nice to win the award. It is a great honor for us that our actions are seen. We operate in a field that may not be as visible in the Norwegian public, but we are quite visible globally. "
