Oslo Medtech member Falck Igel has changed their name to Abilia. The namechange comes as a result of the merger between Falck Igel and Gewa AB in Sweden.
The company’s products are aids for people with cognitive-, communications-, and physical function disorders. Their goal is that these shall contribute to their users increasingly becoming able participants rather than passive spectators.
The new Abilia group – with its combined 89 highly skilled and dedicated employees, now have offices in Norway (Risør, Oslo, Bergen og Trondheim), Sweden (Stockholm, Uppsala, Gävle og Skåne) and Denmark (Hillerød). Through affiliate companies and distributors, their products are represented in 21countries. Abilia is owned by MedCap AB and Katalysator AS.
Karl Tobieson, CEO says: “This merger gives us the opportunity to focus more on the development of our products, design and international markets. Abilia will become the leading player in our field. We will continue to base business on our highly competent staff, our good solutions, and our outstanding service. We will cooperate closely with our users, customers and partners both in Scandinavia and elsewhere.”
