Oslo Medtech is in the spring 2012 focusing on how the Medtech sector can use R&D as a driving force in development and commercialization process. Research shows that it is those companies that have the best absorptive capacity and is clever in taking in use R&D and new knowledge, which also are successful in the long run.
Østfold Hospital Trust will be the first hospital in Europe to use game technology to model and simulate the new hospital buildings and to train hospital staff in the various work processes and scenarios. The main goal is to avoid expensive downtime when the new hospital opens its doors in 2015-16. The use of game technology in the health sector is rapidly growing. An increasing number of health institutions see the benefits of exploring game technology as a way to increase efficiency, provide better services, train staff and reduce costs.
Oslo Medtech and Grenland ICT will facilitate both workshop and speeddating in the breakfast meeting to be held April 26th. This is a follow up after last year`s dialog conferences in Omsorg+/Oslo Municipality and Skien Municipality. The aim is to create a “get-to-know” each other process for companies looking for R&D and technology partners to deliver technologies and services to the new smarthouse projects in both Oslo and Skien Municipalities.
Lørenskog nursing home is one of five dedicated Development Center for nursing homes in the local government caretaker sector. The Akershus center will apply for membership in Oslo Medtech, to gain access to innovation and innovation expertise.
The Oslo Medtech management team challenged 5200 young IT talents gathered on «The Gathering 2012» at the Olympic skating arena Vikingskipet in Hamar. CEO Kathrine Myhre and CMO Cecilie Nordbø spent much of the Easter Holiday at Vikingskipet. Myhre explains why: "We wanted to meet the talents at The Gathering to create awareness for the health sector's great need for IT skills", says Myhre.
